Museum Summer Fun - Big Box City: 10 a.m. June 28 at the Arkansas Museum of Natural Resources. Learn about Smackover during the oil boom of the 1920s by con- structing a replica of the town using card- board boxes.
Thursday Night Live: Jamie Lou and the Hullabaloo: 8 p.m. June 28 at the Griffin Restaurant in the Murphy Arts District at 101 E. Locust St.
Don’t Be A Bully Youth Empowerment Experience: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. June 30 at the James Johnson Gym at Mattocks Park, 1205 Burnside St. This event includes a youth foot- ball mentoring clinic, Let’s Talk session, guest speakers and an anti-bullying workshop that will offer techniques and strategies to identify and prevent bullying while making a difference in school. Gimme A Second!: 9 p.m. July 27 at the Griffin Restaurant in the Murphy Arts District at 101 E. Locust St. This improv group will be bringing the laughs to El Dorado with its “unique take on the standard improv games.” The group is made up of Union County natives and residents and has been perform- ing in locations around the region for the past several years.
Neel St. Strummers concert: 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. July 28 for a free acoustic perfor- mance during lunch at the Griffin Restaurant in the Murphy Arts District at 101 E. Locust St.
Summer Concert Series and the Showdown at Sunset: 5 p.m.-11 p.m. July 28 in down- town El Dorado. It’s not summer in El Dorado without the Main Street, the Murphy Arts District and Murphy USA provided free con- cert series and re-enactment of the deadly gunfight that took place on the courthouse steps in the early 1920s. This event happens each month in the summer, with the concert following the re-enactment, though this year,
