In God we trust

“In God We Trust” is the official motto of the United States. It was adopted as the nation’s motto in 1956 as an alternative or replacement to the unofficial motto of E pluribus unum, which was adopted when the Great Seal of the United States was created
eternal Being. He is not a respecter of persons, is not willing that any should perish, and desires that all men of the earth would come to know Him, follow Him, and trust Him as the One and Only God. This God, in whom our “nation trusts”, remains the Moral Compass for mankind, America, and all nations of the earth. Blessings have come because of nations honoring this trust in God. Any recognition of history about the earth’s nations will bear this out.
Biblical history tells us that when God selected His first nation to place their trust in Him, He chose the nation of Israel some 4,000 years ago. Moses, the first leader of Israel, instructed the young nation of Israel about the Moral Compass for this nation to embrace when he wrote:
“See, I have taught you decrees and laws as the LORD my God com- manded me, so that you may follow them in the land you are entering to take possession of it. Observe them carefully, for this will show your wisdom and understanding to the nations, who will hear about all these decrees and say, “Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people. What other nation is so great as to have their gods near them the way the LORD our God is near us whenever we pray to him? And what other nation is so great as to have such righteous decrees and laws as this body of laws I am setting before you today?
Only be careful, and watch your- selves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live.
Teach them to your children and to their children after them.” (Deut 4.5-9)
and adopted in 1782. “In God We Trust” first appeared on U.S. coins in 1864 and has appeared on paper currency since 1957. A law passed in a Joint Resolution by the 84th Congress (P.L. 84-140) and approved by Presi- dent Dwight Eisenhower on July 30, 1956 declared IN GOD WE TRUST
must appear on currency.
This phrase was first used on paper
money in 1957, when it appeared on the one-dollar silver certificate. The first paper currency bearing the phrase entered circulation on Octo- ber 1, 1957. Our Declaration of Independence of 1776 was an “In God We Trust” document: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with cer- tain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
Many nations of the world have con- sistently throughout history identi- fied with God, the Creator, the Maker of the universe and the earth, and all that is in existence. Some nations, however, identify with gods who are nothing less than idols which have no power to assist, direct, and bless man- kind. These gods are always exclu- sive. They seek to exclude all who do not follow their creed. The One true God is an all inclusive Divine,
