First Assembly of God welcomes new pastor
First Assembly of God, El Dorado, has announced their new pastor and his wife, the Rev. Chris and Amber Cleveland and their daughter, Isabella.
Chris Cleveland was born and raised in Albany, Ga. He attended Central Bible College in Springfield, Mo., and graduated with a bach- elors of arts degree in pastoral ministry. While traveling with the worship ministry of CBC, Heartsong, Chris Cleveland met his wife, Amber, in her hometown of Jerseyville, Ill.
She was already planning to attend CBC that fall and graduated from Central Bible College with a bachelor of arts degree in Christian counseling. They were married May 3, 2008. Before graduating Central Bible College, Chris Cleveland was on full-time staff at the college, as well as a youth pastor.
At the recommendation of CBC’s president, the Clevelands moved to become associate pastors and to later be elected as lead pastors at the same church.
Isabella Ann Cleveland was born on Oct. 11, 2012, and “she is a true miracle from the Lord with a wonderful personality,” her parents said. The Lord then transitioned the Clevelands to
work at Northpoint Bible College in Haverhill, Mass., where he is currently serving as director of enrollment and a part of the board of admin- istration at the Assemblies of God endorsed college.
Chris Cleveland is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God, and Amber Cleveland is a licensed minister with the Assemblies of God. Chris Cleveland said, “We have a heart for the local church and the desire to see it growing and thriving as God intends. We have a heart for peo- ple and love to spend time with all generations. We have a heart for the community and a desire to reach all people with the love, hope and Word of God.”
Chris and Amber Cleveland said they find relaxation through family time, reading, golfing, camping and fishing. They enjoy exploring new things and spending as much quality time with their daughter as they can. People looking for a church home, or who have previously attended First Assembly, are invite to join the congrega- tion.
