Meet The All New
A word from the general manager
You hold in your hands today the first step on a journey that started months ago. The idea behind that journey was to create a more informative and reader friendly newspaper for our readers.
Today’s edition of the News-Times marks the beginning of that process with a completely new front page design that embraces not only a new look, but what we believe reflects the direction our community is taking.
In the next six days you will see other pages rolled out that in the end will make reading and browsing your hometown newspaper more interesting and easier. We invite you to
set back and enjoy the roll out in the week to come as you witness just some of the following;
Morning Brew
• The Morning Brew page will have some of your favorite columns and features including Today in History, Dear Abby, a Reader Poll from Facebook and a featured photo of the day which will rotate between photos out of the past and reader submitted photos. Morning Brew will be part of our daily package.
The Next 48
• Everyday on Page 2 you will see a header titled “The next 48.” Under that header you will find things listed that will be taking place in the next 48 hours. We believe you will find this a handy way of keeping up with meetings, events, and happenings you might want to attend.
Local Flavor
• The Local Flavor page is a weekly offering of news and information about the goings on, events and entertainment in our area. Look for this page on Thursday.
Public Record
• A totally revamped Public Record page will run two to three times a week complete with marriages, divorces, bankruptcies, real estate transactions, health department ratings, county jail log-ins, police report, sheriff’s report, business licenses, liquor licenses, as well as city, state and county ordinances.
Celebrations Page
• On Sunday there will be the weekly Celebrations page featuring Anniversary announcements, Engagement announcements and Wedding announcements.Also included will be columns of local interest and a feature piece on the front of the section.
Union County Marketplace
• You will also notice new Classified pages offering new ways to sell your stuff or find a new job.
