WMS’ goal to ‘develop young hackers of the future’

The El Dorado School District will further imple- ment standards-based reporting for first-graders in addition to kindergartners starting this school year.
Standards-based reporting replaces the A through F grading system with either a one, two or three that signifies how a student masters a skill in his/ her grade level, said Katie Sandifer, district digital media/marketing manager.
“A score of one means a student has not mastered the skill or is not progressing toward grade level expectation even with teacher assistance. A score of two means a student can complete work related to the skill with assistance but has not yet mastered the skill independently,” she said. “A two indicates that the student is progressing toward the grade level expectation, but still needs guidance.
