How to Age Gracefully
No more of the famous excuse, “if only I had time to...”. One thing most of us now have is time. Starting today we can look younger for the rest of our lives. Aging gracefully occurs as we take care of our body and mind. When we are young, we are taught to care for ourselves. As adults, the habits we form are reflected in our appearance. Proper diet, exercise, and personal hygiene create much of what others see when they look at us. Yet as we age, collagen production declines and weakens skin structure. Wrinkles appear, skin sags, and lines form around the eyes and mouth. Exposure to sun and elements, also change the surface.
The first way to improve aging factors is collagen stimulation. Collagen stimulation harnesses your body’s own ability to repair itself. This occurs below the surface of the skin. Stimulation of the tissue sends a message inside your body that increases the production of collagen to an area. There are several effective procedures that stimulate collagen production. In fact, it is the primary goal of most med-spa treatments. Stimulation can be accomplished via fractional laser, RF treatment, and micro-needling. Studies have shown that use of PDO threads and dermal fillers also promote new collagen formation. These procedures can be done in combination or sequence to best achieve the goals you have set.
The second way to improve aging factors is consistent cell renewal. Cell Renewal is the process by which skin produces new cells. Proper exfoliation is needed to keep dead cells from building up. It gives you that healthy, well rested, glow. Focus on daily regimen is important to assure healthy exfoliation and renewal. The emphasis of a skin care regimen should be simple products used consistently. The products don’t need to be expensive. The consideration should be to the ingredients and their effectiveness. Consistency is most important. Aging gracefully is a process that requires dedication. While time is at hand, make it your friend. You will be happy you did.
