Winners told for annual Student Express contest
Mia Brown Norphlet
Mia Brown is a kinder- garten student at Norphlet. She is the daughter of Harvey and Christina Brown of Norphlet and Jamie Brown of Norphlet.
She is the granddaugh- ter of Steve and Tammy Butts of Cabot and James and Sara Myatt of Vilonia. Brown loves playing video games with her brothers, shopping and getting her nails done. Her classroom teacher is Machelle Jones and her art teacher is Lauralyn Ramsey.

is a first grade student at Northwest. She is the daughter of Britney Thurmon and granddaugh- ter of Debbie and John Rogers, all of El Dorado.
Thurmon enjoys spend- ing time with family and friends, dancing, reading and playing with dolls.
Her classroom teacher is Christy Cranford and her art teacher is Gay Bechtelheimer.

ond grader at Junction City Elementary.
Carey is the daughter of Greg and Stacie Carey and the granddaughter of Sharon McEachern of Minden, La. and Otis and Ginny Carey of El Dorado.
She is involved with Camp Fire, Lucy Ladies
Audrey Thurmon Northwest
Dance Studio, a piano stu- dent of Kari Belding and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. At school she has been selected as Top Dragon (Student of the Month), Accelerated Top Reader Awards and made the Principal List and Honor Roll. Her teacher is Connie Hammett. The art teacher is Teresa Brady.

Kaly Newton is a third
grade student at Parkers Chapel. She is the daugh- ter of Angel Ainley and Brandon and Cauista Newton. She is the grand- daughter of Clay and Cheryda Newton and Gary and Kreste Misenheimer.
She like P.E., computer lab, music, library and art. She earned a slot on the Honor Roll.

Zellie McNab is a fourth
grader at Parkers Chapel. She is the daughter of Jeff and Jennifer McNabb. She is involved with Chapel Storm traveling basketball team, a member of the Ell Dorado Youth Bowling League, plays tennis and is in gifted and talented and Camp Fire No. 47.
Her classroom teach- ers are Amy Welch and Monica Smith and her art teacher is Cindy Murray.

Lani Hammock of
Washington Middle School
Addison Carey Junction City
was selected as the over- all winner of the Design- an-Ad contest. Her ad can be seen in this section on page 4.
Hammock, of Washington Middle School, is the daughter of Michael and Kelli Hammock of El Dorado and the grand- daughter of Jan Bailey of El Dorado, Howard and Brenda Hammock, of Vivian, La. She attends Bravo Dance, tried out as a cheerleader, is an honor student and is in Gifted and Talented.

Emily Huddleston, a
seventh grader at Barton Junior High, won the sev- enth grade essay contest.
She is the daugh- ter of Bobby and Sarah Huddleston of El Dorado and the granddaughter of Rick and Pat Humphreys of Pearcy; Don and Danea Robinson of Nashville; Bobby Huddleston I, of Hooks, Texas.
Huddleston is active in PAW Power, Student Council, Quiz Bowl, Camp Fire, a cast member in the school's production of “Annie”, dancer at Bravo Dance Centre and was nationally recognized by the Duke Talent Search Program.
Her English teacher is Sarah Huddleston.

Stephfan Tabe is an eighth grader at West Side Christian School. He is the son of Rosa and the late Dr. Stephen Tabe and the grandson of Nelida A. Briceno and Carlos H. Jiminez of the Dominican Republic; and Njock Tabe Regina Tabe of Cameroon, Africa.
His instructors are Cindy Miller and Jeremy Morgan. He plays soccer and is a member of the Student Council, National Honor Society, WSCS basketball and received a Presidential Excellence Award.

This is the 31st annual Student Express contest; a part of the El Dorado News-Times' Newspapers In Education program. Partners listed in this special publication, represent almost every aspect of El Dorado and Union County businesses and range from very large businesses to small businesses and civic organization.
Students from around the county submitted their work in specific categories for each grade. We extend a big thank you to all the teachers and students who made this annual edition of the Student Express possible.
