“Lake has stepped up as a senior. He’s a lot more athletic than he’s been in the past. He’s understanding the team con- cept and where he’s supposed to fit. He’s come a long way in the last year,” said Johnson, who was asked to compare Tucker to past El Dorado ends.
“We’ve had some smaller ones that were pretty good. Tevin Merritt, size-wise there’s a comparison but Lake is stron- ger.”

EL DORADO - Defensive line coach Jimmy Johnson has tal- ent to work with at El Dorado this season. He hopes to meld the individual talent into a cohesive front.
“If they play together as a unit, they’re hard to deal with,” said Johnson. “We’ve got size. We’ve got smarts. We’ve got everything we need. It’s about being able to mold them into a group to where they know where they fit so the lineback- ers can be able to do what they need to do, too.
“I think we’re doing pretty good. We’ve got some stuff we need to correct. But, motor- wise, we’re doing real well.”
