SouthArk Outdoor Expo to feature vendors, exhibits

EL DORADO — The 2016 SouthArk Outdoor Expo will have several vendors and exhibits related to the outdoors in addition to their other fam- ily fare when it returns to El Dorado on Sept. 10.
The expo is sponsored by South Arkansas Community College.
Outdoor enthusiasts will recognize Steve “Wildman” Wilson, a retired member of the Arkansas Fish and Game Commission and the current radio host of Call of the Wild on Arkansas Radio Network. Wilson will be the headline guest and will also give a sem- inar on “getting ready to get ready for hunting.”
The outdoor photo contest will feature photography from four categories, flora, scenes, wildlife, and people in the out- doors. The exhibit is fun for all including those do not enjoy spending time in nature but you enjoy looking at the sights mother nature provides.
It is not to late to have your photographs on display at the Expo. The submission deadline is Sept. 7.
Also, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will be there to handout materials on fish- ing and hunting in Arkansas. They will also be on hand to answer any questions visitors may have.
For children or even the young at heart, the Commission will have an inflatable outdoor BB gun range.
The Commission will have the popular Scales of Justice, an 18-wheel trailer with hands on exhibits of wildlife, at the event.
According to the Arkansas Fish and Games Commission Facebook page, the Scales of Justice Trailer is used to pro- mote wildlife education and regulations that protect the states wildlife and fisheries resources. The animal mounts in the trailer were illegally obtained and confiscated by wildlife officers.
