EL DORADO — The Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout pre- sented by PepsiCo is more than just a stop on the Symetra Tour, or an opportunity for ris- ing young golfers to earn a shot at the LPGA Tour. It’s also an important local fund- raising opportunity, with this year’s event benefitting HOPE Landing, a unique, therapeutic facility serving children with physical or cognitive disabili- ties. “Our staff, board of direc- tors, clients and their families are honored and very excited to have been chosen as the ben- eficiary of this year’s El Dorado Shootout,” said Kristi Lowery, HOPE Landing’s president and CEO.
“The children at HOPE Landing need our services regardless of their ability to pay, regardless of their home environments and regardless of the severity of their diag- nosis. HOPE Landing provides exactly that: HOPE. A place where needs are met without condition.”
Located in the rolling hills a few miles east of El Dorado, HOPE Landing brings togeth-
er a variety of conventional skilled interventions, like occupational, physical and speech-language therapy, with non-traditional strategies including equine therapy and aquatic therapy. By combining so many diverse therapies in a single location, as well as activ- ities for siblings and families, HOPE Landing strives to create a true community of caregivers in a beautiful, natural setting. Children are treated without regard for their ability to pay, allowing them and their fami- lies to grow at their own pace and build strong bonds with therapists and friends alike.
“HOPE Landing’s location on an 80-acre ranch allows us to utilize our beautiful grounds and the home-like atmosphere of the ranch house to pro- vide therapies to children in a non-threatening manner,” said Lowery. In July of 2005, the corporation was founded by a group of five community mem- bers who believed in a different, more integrated approach to children’s development. HOPE Landing opened for business on June 5, 2006, and quickly became ingrained in the fabric

EL DORADO — After a year spent away from the state, Razorback golfer and 2014 University of Arkansas gradu- ate Emily Tubert can’t wait to return to Arkansas. This time, instead of wearing Razorback red, she’ll be competing again in an LPGA-qualifying event: the Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout presented by PepsiCo. The tournament
is part of the Symetra Tour— Road to the LPGA, which iden- tifies the rising stars in wom- en’s golf and gives them an opportunity to earn a spot in the LPGA and will be held at Mystic Creek Golf Club the week of September 26.
“I grew up in Los Angeles, but once a Razorback, always a Razorback, so I’m thrilled to be back in Arkansas. I’m looking forward to connect- ing with some old friends
and teammates and to play- ing Mystic Creek for the first time,” Tubert said.
Tubert excelled throughout her Razorback golf career, earning six wins, All-American honors three times, and in 2014 she was awarded the presti- gious Dinah Shore Award, given to a female golfer who shines both on the links and in the classroom. She was a See TUBERT, Page 15
